INTERNATIONAL CONCRETE. An exhibition of multidisciplinary art.<\/em><\/h3>\n

\u00a0International Concrete\u00a0is an inquiry based, multidisciplinary exhibition that brings together a mix of international artists who engage with principles of Concrete Art in their working process.\u00a0 Painter, Theo Van Doesburg, in his\u00a0Manifesto of Concrete Art\u00a0(1930), stated to\u00a0the effect that Concrete Art was imagery devoid of figurative, symbolic or stylistic references. Painting \u2018itself\u2019 was defined by the element that only referred to\u2026 \u2018itself\u2019. Painters such as Gris, Malevich, Popova and Mondrian all separated concrete and non-objective process from earlier forms of abstraction. Elements of line, plane, volume, space, material, colour, and\u00a0shape were \u2018concretized, or reduced to a concrete form so that the artist could use certain elements freely and competently for constructive purposes (Popova, L. 1921). Always characterized by clarity and an economy of means, contemporary Concrete Art is a developing aesthetic that responds to new ideas and new technologies (Lowe, P. 1999),\u00a0occurring in several creative disciplines such as Poetry, Film, Opera, Jazz, Performance Art, and Visual Art.\u00a0\u00a0International Concrete\u00a0will highlight principles of concrete process through examples of painting, drawing, photography, digital animation, poetry and film making,\u00a0and\u00a0will attempt to\u00a0challenge popular, aestheticized, sometimes historicized interpretations of Concrete Art, by referring to experimental practice that is cross disciplinary and research based.\u00a0\u00a9 Judith Duquemin 2017.<\/em><\/p>\n

International Concrete\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0convoca en una exposici\u00f3n investigativa y multidisciplinaria a diversos artistas internacionales cuyos propios procesos de trabajo involucran los principios del Arte Concreto.\u00a0 El pintor Theo Van Doesburg, en su\u00a0Manifiesto de arte concreto\u00a0<\/em>(1930), declar\u00f3 al efecto que el Arte Concreto era la imagen carente de cualquier referencia figurativa, simb\u00f3lica o estil\u00edstica. La misma pintura se defin\u00eda a trav\u00e9s de aquel elemento cuya \u00fanica referencia era si mismo. Pintores como Gris, Malevich, Popova o Mondrian separaban el proceso concreto y no objetivo de las anteriores formas de abstracci\u00f3n. Se \u201cconcretaba\u201d, o reduc\u00eda a su forma concreta la l\u00ednea, el plano, el espacio, el material, el color o la forma, para que el artista pudiera emplear ciertos elementos de manera libre y competente para sus fines constructivos (Popova, L. 1921). Caracterizado siempre por su claridad y econom\u00eda de medios, el Arte Concreto contempor\u00e1neo es una est\u00e9tica en desarrollo que responde a las nuevas ideas y tecnolog\u00edas (Lowe, P. 1999)\u00a0que surgen de varias disciplinas creativas, tales como la poes\u00eda, el cine, la \u00f3pera, el jazz, el performance o el arte visual.\u00a0International Concrete<\/em>\u00a0recalcar\u00e1 los principios del proceso concreto a trav\u00e9s de unos ejemplos de pintura, dibujo, fotograf\u00eda, animaci\u00f3n digital, poes\u00eda y cinematograf\u00eda, con la intenci\u00f3n de cuestionar las interpretaciones populares \u2013 cargadas de esteticismo y a veces historicismo \u2013 del Arte Concreto al referirse a una pr\u00e1ctica experimental investigativa y transdisciplinaria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
